Jalan Jalan ke bali Gourmet

I love riding my bike around at night! The traffic is sparse, less shops open that generally blur into each other, you appreciated the light with a heightened sense of anticipation. Bali is alive at night and ready for Heal by Photo's latest endeavor.

A journey into the mundane for some is a magical sense exploding experience for the next and this will be the basis for an on going project that may evolve into the next exhibition. Camera at the ready, eyes open, everything merges until clarity blurs into focus...

Coming Soon

So, here I am in Bali. I'm preparing for my first exhibition which will address something they call the Niskala and sekala, The seen and the unseen. With the upcoming exhibition I hope to blur the boundary between these two "kingdoms" and make the Niskala clearly visible amongst the world of the living.

The Blog will document my progress and the upcoming Exhibition and all the contingencies that must fall into place to make this happen.

First, I will be traveling the island of bali in search of the images I require to convey my idea clearly to the world. Blurring this boundary between Sekala & Niskala is an issue I have had imposed on me as I seem to be part of both realms, the consequences of which are have not yet fully manifested.

It may not be clear what I wish to achieve, so i will clarify. Bali is a spiritual epicentre, a magical paradise. Drive by too fast and you will miss it. Wait, feel, open yourself to the whispers of the other world and it will embrace you, care for you, inspire you or lead you down the darkest of paths.

This exhibition will parallel a spiritual quest and will document the mood, the sensations, the darkness and the light of this journey.

I hope you can come along and enjoy it when it's fully crystalised in the Niskala. Right now it lays dorment in the Ether awaiting it's own discovery in perfect paradox.

Here are some images from an earlier project that gave me the medium to portray the object of this quest. Lost in a city like no other I wished to portray it like i felt it. Twisted & beautiful.
